What a marvellous compostiion Inge. Love it! Nelson has a similar turn of the century theatre- fully restored in the '80's and it is grand. Boris Karloff played in it back in the day. L/F

Artist's Description

The Empress Theatre in the little town of Fort Macleod in southern Alberta was built in 1912 and is still an loved and well used theatre. It is one of the last remaining examples of small town theatre architecture in Alberta
The Empress Theater was built during a period of prosperity for tFort Macleod during the time before WW1 when the Canadian railroads were build and the ranching industry developed. The theatre was important to the social life of any prairie town and was often ornately decorated and luxuriously furnished. The Empress was heralded as a first class theatre and could seat up to 400 patrons. It is now a movie theatre. The building is an important part of the historic main street of Macleod.

Travel was a big part of my career and the camera was often part of my carry-on. My interests in photography are varied - I try to capture the light wherever I can. To me photography is all about seeing and I don't just see things one way in this exciting and versatile world. What I often try to do - is tell a story with my image - or invoke a feeling with mood and light. Photography is a continuing...
