Description
The California Quail is a handsome, round ball of a bird with a rich grey breast, intricately scaled underparts, and a curious, forward-drooping head plume. It is often found scratching at the ground in large groups. They are quite skittish and run for cover at the slightest little disturbance.

Congrats on second place in the Bird Photography group! A bird more common to be found on the ground, to be able to capture with such detail and on a branch instead of the ground offers such a unique photograph!
