Description
Gammel strand is an old street in Central Copenhagen. It used to be used as a harbor for fishing boats and the local fish market was there.

Right now there is hardly any sun. As I recall, the light goes around Thanksgiving and comes back near the end of January. Wait until April or early summer (and get yourself a good sleep mask as you'll need it). When the birds begin to sing around 2AM is the time to shoot this street after dinner. Another great set of views is around Christiansborg, Boersen (stock exchange), and Ved Stranden. I had an office on Lille Strandstraede off Nyhavn and over there the late light is nice on the 1588 buildings. If you need a photo store, go to Hother and for a lab use Colorgruppen.

I used to live there and the only thing wrong with this shot is that there are so many cars. The light would have been nicer just after sunset while there is still some light on the front of the buildings while the streetlights have just come on. This looks like Nybrogade. Use PS and carefully get rid of most of the cars.

I simply could not agree more:) Do you know how many hours that would take:) I still have a day job:) Contract here and it is DARK when I leave work. But on my days off - I should try:) Home though is North America for me as well:) And how very, very refreshing to actually get some real useful feedback. I LOVE a solid critique, so any time:) Thank you Jan!!

Thank you odd. I get lots of practice this time of year when it is dark both going to work and coming home!
