Description
Cottonwood House is one of the oldest buildings still standing in the interior British Columbia. It was constructed in 1864-65 along the Cariboo Wagon road going to Barkerville and the Cariboo Goldmines. The Boyd family operated the roadhouse and the ranch until 1951.
In addition to the road house (guest house), the structures at the site, which is now a provincial heritage site, include a barn, stables and other outbuildings as well as a general store.
