Description
The name Anemone comes from Greek and roughly means "wind flower". The anemone is a perennial herb with a subsurface root stock. The leave are radical, deeply cut leaves. Elongated stems bear one or more cup-shaped flowers, either white (most common), ping, red, blue and occasionally yellow.
The fruits often bear long "hair" which aids in the distribution of seed by the wind.
