A juvenile male pileated woodpecker looking for his mother to come and feed him.
The Pileated Woodpecker, Dryocopus Pileatus, is one of the largest and most striking of the woodpeckers. It is commonly found pecking at dead trees and fallen logs, searching for their main food - carpenter ants.
